In November, during the first week of a three-week trip to Nepal, two of our trustees, Mark and Caroline, visited Shree Saraswoti Basic School. This tiny primary school with just ten children is tucked away in a remote mountain community in the Pokhara Valley. As some of you will remember, when we first began supporting the school a few years ago, it had little more than concrete buildings and empty classrooms.
Since then, thanks to your generosity, so much has changed.
Together we have funded a drinking water tank and filtration system, classroom teaching materials, school uniforms, educational toys, and educational resources. The government has added sanitation facilities. Step by step, the school has become a safer, more welcoming place for children to learn.
On that first visit, the school’s principal, Pushpa, asked a simple question:
Would it be possible to help them get a smart TV screen for teaching?…

Why a Screen Matters
For many schools in rural Nepal, access to basic learning resources is still limited. Teaching is often reliant on blackboards, handwritten materials, and verbal explanation alone. While dedicated teachers do incredible work within these constraints, having the right tools can transform how information is shared.
The new screen allows teachers to:
- Use visual learning materials to support children of different ages
- Show educational videos, images, and presentations
- Make lessons more engaging and easier to understand
- Introduce students to digital content they would otherwise never see
For the students, it brings lessons to life. Concepts become clearer, curiosity is sparked, and the classroom experience feels more modern, interactive, and inclusive.
Shree Saraswoti school has had Wi-Fi installed by the government, but they had nothing to actually use it with. No way to access educational videos, music, or online learning. Pushpa wanted to open up the world for her students.
So we recorded a short video appeal and shared it with you on our social media (you can follow us on Instagram and Facebook).
What happened next honestly blew us away.

Your response was incredibly kind. You didn’t just help us reach the target, you exceeded it. Because of that, before they left Nepal, Bishnu, Mark and Caroline were able to return to this remote school carrying a smart screen (on the back of a scooter!)… and a backpack full of educational toys and games for the children.

They spent a wonderful day there installing the screen, getting it connected, and watching the children experience something completely new. When music played through the internet for the first time, they danced. Their faces lit up with joy, curiosity, and excitement – watched by members from across the community (word got out fast!). It was one of those moments that stays with you. You can see it all in film at the Instagram reel link below.
This small primary school is now growing. More families are sending their children there. And the impact goes far beyond the classroom — it’s strengthening the whole community.
We have a number of other projects in progress which we will be posting updates on soon. We are also currently looking for corporate sponsors for specific funding requirements we have. If you or anyone you know might be able to help please get in touch through the website or email: caroline@peakeducationnepal.com
Please share this update with anyone who might be interested in education of children in Nepal. Thank you so much for your ongoing support.
